I am a massage therapist specialising in manual lymph drainage (MLD), massage and reflexology in central and south Edinburgh.

I am highly qualified and can offer the following treatments;

  • Manual Lymph Drainage

Manual Lymph Drainage, also known as MLD, is an extremely gentle and relaxing form of massage that can be used to treat serious chronic conditions such as lymphoedema.

    More Info

Manual Lymph Drainage can be a very useful tool pre and post surgery to help the body reduce and cope with post-operative swelling. It is useful to the healthy person as a cleansing internal "detox", or purely for relaxation. It has many applications for general health problems and can help people with M.E. skin problems, and sinus congestion, to name a few. It can help boost the immune system. It is great to have during pregnancy and can help with pregnancy related carpal tunnel, puffy ankles, and fluid retention. For more information on the benefits of MLD see my Manual Lymph Drainage page.

  • Swedish Massage

A classical massage - this can be light and gentle, or deep and invigorating.

    More Info

In Swedish Massage therapist and client work together to improve health, gait and general well-being. Muscles in spasm can cause a lot of pain, discomfort and postural imbalances. This can be treated by searching out the knots and tightness and applying varying pressure with the hands, forearm and elbow to gradually reduce the pull and tension in the muscles.

  • Pre-and peri-natal massage

I am qualified to massage women throughout their pregnancies.

    More Info

Pre-and peri-natal massage can improve mother's and baby's tissue health as well as having many other beneficial effects such as reducing the development of varicose veins and reducing blood pressure and oedema. This is a lovely time in a woman's life to receive massage and can be especially helpful in the third trimester, preparing a woman for that meditative "inward" state that can be a part of labour. Massage is a proven stress-reducing treatment.

  • Reflexology

Reflexology involves deep and light massage of the feet, and through the nervous system it can affect the whole body thereby improving health and relaxation. Its effect can be surprisingly profound.

  • Slavic Massage

The massage is nurturing, sensuous, and can help energise, balance and restore a sense of well-being. It is especially beneficial for people who spend a lot of time sitting at a desk, and also children.

  • Thermo-Auricular Therapy

Thermo-auricular Therapy uses Hopi Ear Candles to relieve Ear Nose and Throat conditions such as very waxy ears, sinusitis and migraine.

    More Info

Thermo-auricular Therapy can be very beneficial in the treatment and management of glue-ear, labyrinthits, tinnitus and Meniere's disease. It is a useful treatment before and after flying and many people find it a relaxing treatment that can help to relieve stress.
